Equalizing the baud rates:
If the baud rate of the connected units is also unknown, it can be set uniformly by the follow-
ing procedure:
All connected units are set to BDR 7 by this procedure (also in the case of address conflict).
To determine the address allocation, a Bus−Scan is then required.
HBM
1. Set baud rate of the master interface:
1200 Bd, 8 data bits, no parity bit, 1 stop bit
2. Output of the command string:
;
S98;
BDR7;
(Wait approx. 150ms)
All WE2108 which previously have the setting BDR = 0 can be addressed
with this setting of the master. They are changed over to BDR 7 by the
command string.
3. Set baud rate of the master interface:
2400 Bd, 8 data bits, no parity bit, 1 stop bit
4. Output of the command string:
;
S98;
BDR7;
(Wait approx. 150ms)
All WE2108 which previously have the setting BDR = 1 are changed over
to BDR 7.
5. Repeat these steps with the further possible baud rate / parity setting
(see BDR command)
The output of the semicolon before the S98; command is absolutely necessary, since
because of the bus mode with different baud rates, undefined characters can be stored
in the reception buffer of the WE2108. These are rejected by the reception of the semi-
colon. Possibly a ? is given in the output buffer, but this is overwritten with the answer to
the next command.
