Fault description
Pump is running, but is
not conveying any or
only little fluid.

Cause
Remedy
Negative
Ensure that the required negative pressure
pressure/vapour
required to suck in the fluid is not higher than the
pressure in the
vapour pressure of the fluid being conveyed
incorrect ratio
(cavitation).
Ball return valves
Check pump for stuck ball return valves. If the
stuck
product being conveyed is not compatible with the
pump elastomers, these can swell up. Replace
ball return valves and seals with parts made from
appropriate elastomers. The valve balls also
become smaller with increasing wear and can
therefore become stuck in the valve seats. In this
case, replace valve balls and valve seats.
Humidity in the
Check if the compressed air contains too much
compressed air
humidity. Either fit a dryer or a hot air generator for
compressed air. In some applications, a separator
can be used instead to remove the water from the
compressed air.
Diaphragm
Check pump for broken diaphragm.

Check external diaphragm plate for leaks (see
diaphragm plate
section 8C).
Leaking o-rings
Check clamping straps as well as o-rings and
and seals
seals for leaks, especially on the suction elbows.
Leaking line
Ensure that the line connections are airtight.
