54. Temperature sensor for T auto vacuum mode

T auto vacuum control mode needs the optional
temperature sensor (5) (P/N 14-014-003-06).
To install, remove caps from condenser (6). When
running the T auto mode, connect temperature
sensor with the forward terminal connector (4) in the
rear of the drive head.
Cleaning: wipe housing clean with a damp cloth (add some mild liquid soap).
Note
To avoid damage to the surface finish, avoid using chlorine bleach, chlorine-
based detergents, abrasive substances, ammonia, rags or cleaning agents
containing metal particles.
Rust stains appearing on the bottom of the hot bath after long-term use is
caused by foreign matter deposits (iron particles or rust particles).
Remove such rust stains and calcareous deposits with a conventional
phosphoric acid bathroom cleaner (decalcifying agent).
The float switch may fail due to calcareous deposits, causing the hot bath
to be overfilled or overflow. We recommend to decalcify this float switch
every 6 months.
To this end uninstall float switch (disconnect plug connector (3) and
loosen float switch (1) attaching screws with a screwdriver (refer to
page 115)
Use commercial grade decalcifying agent (go by instructions on the pack),
and immerse float switch until fluid level reaches coupling nut. For
treatment time refer to instructions on the pack.
Never attempt to work with damaged or worn-out PTFE gasket (6). Not
reaching vacuum pressure wanted may damage your rotary evaporator.
Inspect PTFE gasket (6) in regular intervals and replace on condition refer
to page 77).
The unit is maintenance-free. Repair work is limited to technicians approved or appointed by
Heidolph Instruments. Please call your local Heidolph Instruments Dealer or a Heidolph
Instruments Field Representative (also refer to page 123).
