5. Install vapor tube and PTFE-seal

Unscrew large-size (1) and small (2) coupling rings. Lock driveshaft by turning drive lock (3)

clockwise (lock) to ease loosening and tightening of large-size ring (1).

Remove PTFE-adapter (4) with built-in PTFE-O-ring (5) and PTFE-seal (6)

Install backing ring (7) and vapor tube (8) in drive head. Put sandwich gasket (9) on vapor tube
coupling flange

Slide small ring (2) over coupling flange of distributor (10). Expand small split ring (11) and
slide over distributor (10) coupling flange, shoulder pointing forward

Secure assembly (10, 2, 11) tight with small coupling ring (2).
Slide PTFE seal (6) on vapor tube (8), sealing lip pointing inward
Never attempt to work with damaged or worn-out PTFE gasket (6). Not reaching vacuum
pressure wanted may damage your rotary evaporator. Inspect PTFE gasket (6) in
regular intervals and replace on condition.

Slide PTFE-adapter (4) with built-in PTFE-O-ring (5) into
drive module.

Slide large-size coupling (1) over evaporator flask (12)
coupling flange. Expand large split ring (13) and slide
over evaporator flask (12) coupling flange, shoulder
pointing forward.

Set flask support tubes to 10 liter or 20 liter mark and
lock with knobs (14); (I = 10 l, II = 20 l)

Locate evaporator flask on flask lift support tubes (15),
tilt flask neck towards drive head, center connecting
flange in drive head, so that connecting flange rests
against PTFE-O-ring (5) located in PTFE-adapter (4).
