Very dense cooking, water and/or braising
vapours as well as room, air, insect sprays
must not reach the measuring system of
the device. Keep the room well-ventilated.
Extreme temperature fluctuations or
very strong electromagnetic radiation
effect the direct surroundings of the
smoke alarm device with radio link and
hence the device.
Cigarette smoke sets off the alarm only
if the smoke is in immediate proximity
of the radio alarm or reaches the smoke
alarm device with radio link in extreme
concentration.
In order to avoid a contamination-in-
duced alarm in the smoke alarm device
with radio link, the device must be pro-
tected from these environmental condi-
tions as much as possible.

Always ensure that the room is well
ventilated while cooking, or if there
is strong vapour build-up close to the
smoke alarm device with radio link.
Abort or prevent a contamination-in-
duced alarm by softly pressing on the
test/stop button (Illus. 1 point d), by
ventilating the room and cleaning the
device.
Please inform your neighbours about an
alarm without a fire so that the fire de-
partment is not involved unnecessarily!
General safety
instructions
Smoke alarm devices with radio links
help identify fires early, but can neither
extinguish a fire nor prevent fire from
starting and cannot inform the fire de-
partment directly.
Smoke alarm devices with radio links gi-
ve out a loud alarm when there is a fire,
so that the danger is made known.
In spite of great care during the manu-
facture of the smoke alarm devices with
radio links, there can be faults in their
functioning and a device may not be able
to notify about a fire or not able to do
so in time.
Always follow the normal precautionary
rules while handling fire, combustible
material and technical devices.
This device is a closed system. Any hand-
ling of the inside of the device will not
only make the limited warranty and the
statutory obligation of guarantee void,
it will also mean that the device can and
may not be used as it is specified to!
Please do not open the device. It may
cause damage to the device.
Battery need not be changed and is
technically not required.
Please protect the device, in particular
while renovating the building, but also
generally from moisture, cold, heat, dust,
fine dust, spider and insects, grease, ni-
cotine and varnish vapours and painting
materials such as wall colours, adhesi-
ves and dirt of any kind. Please do not
expose the device to direct sunlight or
extreme heat, because it could damage
the built-in battery.
