is applicable for rooms with ceilings di-
vided by beams with heights more than
20cm and the area of individual ceiling
sections is more than 36sqm. The smo-
ke alarm device with radio link should
always be installed at a distance of less
than 6 meters to a possible source of
fire so that the smoke or fire tempera-
ture can reach the device quickly and the
smoke alarm device with radio link can
react by sending out the alarm signal in
time during an ensuing fire. Normally, the
shorter the distance between the smoke
alarm device with radio link and fire, the
quicker the alarm to warn you of the fire.
An ideal installation is when the de-
vices are installed in all other occupied
rooms and in the stairwells as well (Illus.
4). This device is also suitable for your
kitchen (source of fire Number 1!).

Installing a smoke alarm device with ra-
dio link is not imperative in wash rooms
(bathrooms and toilets etc.) because
there is little risk of fire here, but it is
also not completely irrelevant if there
are electrical devices being used (e.g. hair
dryer, washing machine) and combustible
objects are also being protected.
In case of a fire, this smoke alarm de-
vice with radio link identifies the rising
smoke from the fire and the related rise
in temperature very quickly. The device
sends out a loud alarm to signal you of
the situation.
You can deactivate this signal temporarily
(for approximately 10 minutes) once you
have secured a reliable emergency exit
(something that must always be checked
carefully!) or stop it before the alarm
goes off by softly pressing the test/stop
button (Illus. 1 point d). It is recommen-
ded to then ventilate the room properly
to avoid setting off the alarm again.
Please keep a distance of at least 2 me-
ters from electronic, radio-based devices
(such as WLAN router, baby phones,
radio loudspeaker, radio camera, base
station of wireless telephones, mobile
telephones, microwave, radio transmit-
ters/receivers of all kinds (radio remo-
te operators) etc.) while deciding the
installation position of the smoke alarm
device with radio link, since such devices
can disrupt the radio signal of the smoke
alarm device with radio link.
If this minimum distance of two meters
is not kept on a regular and continuous
basis, it can cause disruptions in the radio
signals of the smoke alarm device with
radio link, which may also cause the bat-
tery to discharge prematurely.

Assembly

The smoke alarm device with radio link
will be fixed on the place of assembly
with a magnetic holder (Illus. 1 point b).
This magnetic holder can be fastened
to the ceiling in two ways as described
below. Please note that the magnetic
holder has a strong magnetic force only
on one side.
