2. After all of the five radio groups are
created, the radio group in the stairwell
will be reset into connection mode as
described under „Expanded radio group
/ switching on connection mode".
3. Now, in the first residence, press the
radio button for approx. 1 second (Illus.
6, point a) of the smoke alarm device wi-
th radio link next in line the radio group
in the stairwell (e.g. in the corridor) using
the long, thin pin end of the activation fu-
se (Illus. 5). The LED shows now a short
yellow intervall.
4. Once you release the radio button, the
system will display: a successful connecti-
on between the radio group in the first
residence and radio group in stairwell
through a green signal by the radio LED.

5. Steps 3 and 4 can now also be repe-
ated in the second, third and fourth re-
sidences in order to also connect the
radio groups in these residences to the
radio group in the stairwell.
When all radio groups in the residences
are connected with the radio group of
the stairwell, the cross-linking mode can
be ended by pressing the radio button
(Illus. 6 point a) of any smoke alarm de-
vice with radio link in the radio group in
stairwell briefly (approx. 2 seconds). The
radio group in stairwell will now become
a collective radio group (stairwell).
The radio LEDs in all smoke alarm devices
with radio links in the collective radio
group (stairwell) and the connected radio
groups (residences) will now go off, there-
by completing the setup of the collective
radio group for the stairwell.
Functions test of the
collective radio group
The correct function of the collective
radio group can be checked easily. A
short confirmation of the test/stop but-
ton (Illus. 1 point d) for 2-3 seconds in
a smoke alarm device with radio link of
the collective radio group will initiate a
self-test of the individual device. A short
signal will be given out now.
A longer pressure on the test/stop but-
ton (Illus. 1 point d) until the second si-
gnal will initiate self test via radio in all
other smoke alarm devices with radio
links in the collective radio group. This
test needs to be repeated every 3-6
months in order to test the collective
radio group's functioning.
Connection test between
a radio group and
collective radio group
The correct connection of a radio group
with the collective radio group can be
checked very easily.
This test can only be carried out by a
smoke alarm device with radio link of a
radio group (e.g. residence) but on from
a smoke alarm device with radio link of
a collective radio group (e.g. stairwell).
For this, press the test/stop button (Illus.
1 point d) of a smoke alarm device with
radio link of the radio group until the
third signal (approx. 20 seconds). Release
the test/stop button after the third sig-
nal, otherwise the connection test can-
not be completed.
With the first signal, the test result of
the smoke alarm device with radio link
whose test/stop button (Illus. 1 point d)
you have pressed will be displayed.
