2 Description
2.1 Application and recommendations
The monocentric 3R15 (stainless steel) and 3R49 (titanium) Modular Knee Joints with a stance phase
friction brake activated by weight bearing were designed to be used exclusively for the prosthetic
fitting of lower extremities.
Field of application according to the Ottobock Mobility System MOBIS: Recom-
mendation for mobility degrees 1 and 2 (indoor walkers and walkers confined to
a limited radius outdoors). Approved for a patient with a weight of up to 100 kg
(220 lbs).
The Ottobock MOBIS is not intended to be used as a guide to obtaining reimbursement
for prosthetic components in the USA.
The joint is especially suited for above-knee amputees who require a high degree of stability. The
brake increases the stability of the knee and, for example, compensates for weak musculature.
