Description
CODMAN VersaTru
Bipolar Forceps and CODMAN VersaTru Slim Disposable
Non-Stick Bipolar Forceps are available in a variety of
lengths and tip sizes for use with a bipolar electrosurgical
generator such as the CMC
Generator. Compatibility with other generators has
not been established. The non-stick technology
and ergonomic design enhance performance during
procedures. The forceps are for single use only and are
provided sterile, and are nonpyrogenic in the patient-
contacting area from the tip to the bend in the forceps.
Indications
CODMAN VersaTru Standard Disposable Non-Stick
Bipolar Forceps and CODMAN VersaTru Slim Disposable
Non-Stick Bipolar Forceps are intended for use in
electrosurgery for coagulation of tissue.

Contraindications

• Resterilization of used product by the customer
• Use for contraceptive coagulation of fallopian tube
tissue
WARNINGS
Failure to follow these warnings could result in fire or
patient injury.
• Do not use bipolar forceps in the presence of
flammable anesthetics or oxidizing gases or in close
proximity to volatile solvents, as explosion may occur.
Allow alcohol based surgical prep to fully dry prior to
using forceps.
• Do not use in patients who have cardiac pacemakers
or other active implants without first consulting a
qualified professional (e.g., cardiologist). A possible
hazard exists because interference with the action of
the electronic implant may occur, or the implant may
be damaged.
• Do not place the active forceps directly on or near the
patient when not in use. Place the active forceps on a
visible, non-conductive area away from the patient or in
a non-conductive instrument holster when not in use.
Inadvertent contact with the patient may cause burns.
• Do not place active forceps near or in contact with
flammable materials such as gauze or surgical drapes.
Forceps that are activated or hot from use may cause
a fire.
