Comissioning and operation
n Changeover valves with Dual Level Control are installed on the suction-side hose
connection of the metering station.
n At least one of the two supply tanks is full.
The suction lances measure the level of the two supply tanks and send the following
signals to the main control:
n Empty signal when the fill level of one of the supply tanks reaches the defined empty
signal level.
– Using the DLC-controlled changeover valves, the suction connection switches the
suction operations to the second (full) supply tank.
– Because a supply tank is empty, the main control sends an alarm.
– When you receive the alarm, replace the empty supply tank immediately with a full
supply tank and completely immerse the full supply tank suction lance in the
medium.
n Ready signal when the suction lance of the supply tank is completely immersed in the
medium.
5.2.6.3 Fill level monitoring with automatic tank changeover - without pilot valves and DLC
This function applies for changeover valves without pilot valves. This is indicated on the
type plate on feature "20".
The valve actuation and all functions of the DLC must be carried out by an external control
or actuation system.
5.2.6.4 Pressure monitoring with multifunction valve
For pressure monitoring, the multifunction valve has an overpressure function.
The overpressure function protects the pressure/metering line and the pump against
overpressure.
Correct use of the overpressure function requires the following:
n The permissible maximum pressure (parts, metering point, components) that a plant
engineer must calculate in advance is set on the multifunction valve.
n To be able to drain excess medium according to the specifications, a bypass line must
be fitted to the overflow connection of the multifunction valve.
The overpressure function monitors and regulates the pressure in the pressure/metering
line. It compares the actual pressure with the maximum permissible pressure set on the
multifunction valve. If there is a risk of permissible maximum pressure being exceeded,
the multifunction valve on the overflow connection releases medium into a bypass line.
Medium is released until the maximum permissible pressure is reached.
