Where present, screw as far as possible the stud bolts on the drive head for next assembly to the lineshaft.
Lift up the drive head using a rope, preferably metallic, passed through the two lateral openings or by a hook fixed in these
openings.
Apply a thin layer or grease to the thread on the lower end of the shaft of the head (thread is situated in the delivery duct of
the drive head - fig. 9).
Hang this head perpendicularly to the flange of the last column pipe section already in the well; this pipe must be equipped
with bearing support H complete with OR F (fig. 5).
Make sure that the touching surfaces of the head and the support are perfectly clean. Dry if necessary.
Mount the stud bolts M on the head and join the last column pipe to the head with nuts C.
During this operation, the shaft of the drive head will rise up a few millimeters, this is perfectly normal; the
working key may even come out of place, simply replace it in its correct position when adjusting the end play
(see par. 5.3).
Lower the unit turning it so that the delivery outlet is in the required direction and fix thehead on the support frame using
the 4 bolts for this purpose.
Unscrew the regulating nut and remove from its shaft (fig. 9).
Push the transmission shaft downwards and using a spanner inserted into the flat slots of the shaft, screw it into the
coupling on the last column pipe section.
When turning becomes difficult, insert another flat spanner on to the last shaft of the column, passing it through the delivery
outlet of the pump.
ATTENTION! Be careful not to let this spanner drop into the column pipe, if necessary secure it with a rope.
Screw as far as possible, turning the spanner placed on the upper part of the head shaft (fig. 9).
Remove the lower spanner from the delivery outlet.
The pump is now mounted as shown in paragraph 4 and all that remains to be done is to adjust the end play.
5.2.

Adjusting the end play

Use: flat spanners, hexagonal bar spanners for cap screws with hexagonal slots, grease.
Completely fill with clean water the lineshaft column through the outlet flange of the delivery base or through the orifice
situated on top of this outlet and closed by a hexagonal head plug.
After having filled the pump, the water level must never fall inside the head; this would mean that the footvalve is not
properly sealed or that some gaskets have been left out during mounting. In this case, a complete check of the pump is
necessary. If the mounting instructions in this booklet have been faithfully followed, however, this inconvenience is most
unlikely.
At this time the pump should be blocked because the impellers should be placed on their place; if the pump is unblocked,
proceed with a few strokes of mallet (wood, rubber, plastic) on the end of transmission shaft to asset the components.
Lightly grease the thread on the drive head shaft and the touching parts of the regulating nut (fig. 10).
