Using Your Avantgarde Wheelchairs As A Seat For Transportation In Motor Vehicles - Otto Bock Avantgarde series Bedienungsanleitung

Dependent of the caster wheel's diameter and set up and the wheelchair's center
of gravity the casters might wobble when driving at higher speeds. This can lead
to locking of the casters and/or cause the wheelchair to tip over.
For this reason make sure the casters are correctly adjusted (see section
"Adjustability"). Take care when ascending and descending slopes, ensure your
are in full control and brake to reduce your speed.
Your hands may become warm due to friction produced during braking from speed
or on longer slopes. This is especially true if the push rings are aluminum. When
using your wheelchair outdoors, wear leather gloves. As gloves will provide you
with a better grip and protect your fingers from dirt and friction burns.
The maximal load for the Avantgarde T, Ti 8.9, Ti Ultra and VR is 12 kg, the
maximal load for the Avantgarde XXL 2 is 180 kg.
Observe the instructions for maintenance, cleaning and care (page 81).
Should any defects become apparent, please contact your authorized dealer
immediately to eliminate them. This is particularly required, when you detect that
the driving behavior changes or that the wheelchair becomes unstable.
The Avantgarde Ti 8.9, Ti Ultra and Avantgarde XXL 2 wheelchairs are not suitable
for use as a seat for transportation in motor vehicles.
Mounting and/or use of accessories and/or modifications on the wheelchair which
have not been authorized by Otto Bock are not permitted. Such mounting or use
will make the Otto Bock warranty null and void and you will not be entitled to lodge
liability claims against the manufacturer.
9. Using your Avantgarde Wheelchairs as a Seat for
Transportation in Motor Vehicles
Using the Avantgarde Ti 8.9, Ti Ultra and Avantgarde XXL 2 as a seat for
transportation in motor vehicles
The Avantgarde Ti 8.9, Ti Ultra and Avantgarde XXL 2 wheelchairs are not suitable
for use as a seat for transportation in motor vehicles. Non-observance of these
instructions could lead to injury of the wheelchair user, as well as of all other
passengers in the motor vehicle, in case of an accident.
