9. Commissioning the Model

a) Setting the centre of gravity

The centre of gravity must lie approx. 80 -100 mm behind the nose of the wing.
Mark the position of the centre of gravity on the wing bottom on the left and the
right of the fuselage using a pen.
From the bottom, hold the assembled and ready-to-fly model at the measured
positions with your index fingers. If the centre of gravity is set correctly, the
model should be slightly leaning forward.
For the first flights, please set the centre of gravity at 80 mm. Then you can
determine the optimum centre of gravity by performing several flights and adjust
it.
The centre of gravity can easily be adjusted by moving the power supply of the
receiver (battery pack) or by adding trim weights.
b) Setting the rudder surface travels
If correctly built and the sender settings are made properly, the rudder should have the following rudder surface travel values (measured at the rear edge):
Aileron
7 mm upwards
Elevator rudder
9 mm upwards
Rudder
25 mm to the left
Attention!
These values represent the upper and lower limits of the rudder deflections. Adjust the deflections individually to suit your personal preferences. If
you are using a computer remote control, you can comfortably set the values on the transmitter. If you are using a normal remote control, the values
are set by repositioning the pushrods on the servo rudder horns or the flaps.
