6. Connections and Control Elements

See fold-out page
1) MIC input
This symmetric (balanced) XLR socket is intended for microphone connection.
For operation of a condenser microphone, a phantom voltage of +48 VDC can be applied to the XLR socket.
Microphones or devices that do not require any phantom voltage may be damaged by it (see phantom
switch).
2) INSERT input
The 6.3mm INSERT jack sockets are designed in TRS jack socket form. This makes it possible to use the sockets
as signal input and output at the same time (to loop in a compressor, equalizer, effect device, etc.) or as signal
output only. The INSERT sockets are pre-fader switched.
3) LINE input
Symmetric (balanced) 6.3mm LINE jack socket for connection of an instrument or device with LINE output (key-
board, synthesizer, etc.). This socket can also be connected to an asymmetric (unbalanced) mono jack. In this
case, use short cables to avoid the danger out outside interference as far as possible.
Only the MIC- or LINE socket of a channel must be used. Never use both inputs of a channel at
the same time.
4) GAIN control
The GAIN control sets the channel's input sensitivity. The differently high signals of the individual channels can thus
be pre-amplified and adjusted to each other. Turn the control to the left stop before connecting a device to the input
socket or disconnecting it.
5) PAN control
The PAN control determines distribution of the signal to the right and left channel of the stereo output.
In the middle position, the signal is sent to both outputs.
In the "R" position, no signal is put on the left output.
In the "L" position, no signal is put on the right output.
6) Equalizer
Channels 1,2 and 3/4 are equipped with a 3-band equalizer. The HIGH, MID and LOW controls can be used to lift
or lower the high, middle and low tones of the respective input signal. The control range is at +/-15dB (10kHz /
700kHz / 50Hz). The control position "0" leads to neutral sound reproduction.
7) AUX control
The AUX control is used to mix a separate AUX sum signal (output signal) at the AUX socket. The signal for the
AUX control is output upstream (PRE fader) of the channel fader. Changes at the channel fader will not influence
the AUX output signal. It is therefore suitable for controlling an monitor system.
Please observe that the signal at the AUX socket is also influenced by the AUX MAIN control. See
AUX MAIN control.
