Cleaning and Maintenance

9.1

Ceramill Motion 2

9.1.1 Cleaning
The Ceramill Motion 2 must be cleaned after each
working day.
▷ Empty the swarf sieve frequently, especially
when wet grinding plastic.
When the swarf sieve is too full, it is possible
that the coolant/lubricant will not drain off.
Cleaning after dry processing
NOTE:
Zirconia dust is abrasive!
▷ Clean the window in the door carefully, using
only a soft cloth; do not scrub or scour.
▷ Open the door of the Ceramill Motion 2.
▷ Replace the extraction hood with the cleaning
hose with brush head.
▷ Press operation button [A] on the Ceramill
Motion 2.
The extraction system is activated. The opera-
tion button lights up.
▷ Press service button [B] on the Ceramill
Motion 2.
The sealing air at the spindle is activated. The
service button lights up.
▷ If required, remove the swarf sieve and dispose
of accumulated milling dust/shavings away
from the machine.
By doing so, the filter bag in the extraction sys-
tem will not fill up as quickly and can be used
longer.
▷ Thoroughly vacuum out the milling chamber
with the cleaning hose.

Residual zirconia dust from dry processing
can clog the filter bag in case of subse-
quent wet processing.
▷ Briefly press service button [B].
The sealing air is deactivated.
▷ Briefly press operation button [A].
The extraction system is deactivated.
Cleaning after wet processing
NOTE:
Ceramill Airstream is not designed for wet vacu-
uming. The Ceramill Airstream may not be used
for cleaning the interior after wet processing!
▷ Remove shavings/chips manually.
NOTE:
The milling chamber may only be cleaned with
water.
▷ Do not use cleaning agents.
Dried-in coolant/lubricant is difficult to
remove.
After wet processing:
▷ Clean and dry the milling chamber prior
to downtimes lasting several hours.
▷ Remove the swarf sieve and dispose of accumu-
lated milling dust/shavings.
▷ Clean the milling chamber and wipe it dry using
a soft cloth.
