9. Commissioning the model

a) Inserting and connecting the flight battery

After removing the cabin hood, the flight battery is inserted from the front into the fuselage.
The center of gravity determines the exact battery position.
b) Setting the point of gravity
The flight battery must be installed in the battery compartment so that the centre
of gravity is approx. 50 - 60 mm behind the leading edge of the wing. To do so,
mark the corresponding center of gravity position on the ribs of the wing (2).
Support the assembled, ready to fly model from below on the measuring spots
with your left and right index fingers. In case of a correct center of gravity, the
model should slightly tilt forward.
Important!
Always measure the center of gravity with the cabin hood in place.
For the first flights, please set the center of gravity at 50 mm. Then you can
determine the optimum center of gravity by performing several flights and adjust
it.
During flight, the battery must be secured with adhesive tape (3) so it does not
come off. In addition to the Velcro tape, attach a strip of adhesive tape to the
bottom of the battery and to the battery slide to effectively prevent sliding to the
front or the rear.
Once you have defined the optimum center of gravity, mark the battery as well
as a position on the fuselage (4) with a black, permanent marker. This avoids
having to determine the center of gravity again each time after changing the
flight battery.

c) Setting the rudder deflections

If correctly built and the sender settings are made properly, the rudder should have the following swing values (measured at the rear edge):
Aileron
18 mm upwards
Elevator rudder
10 mm upwards
Rudder
20 mm to the left
Attention!
These values state the top and bottom limit values of the rudder deflections. Adjust the deflections individually to suit your personal preferences.
If you use a computer-controlled remote control system for your model, you can comfortably set the values on your transmitter. If you use a normal
remote control, you have to adjust the values by shifting the thrust rods on the rudder horns of the servos resp. on the rudder flaps.
