Muting and open listening
Muting
The mute function allows you to switch off the handset microphone during a normal call.
The party you are calling will then no longer be able to hear the conversation you conduct
with persons in the room (room enquiry. However, you will continue to be able to hear
the party on the phone.

Open listening
The »Open listening« function can be activated when there are other persons in the room
who wish to also participate in the call. You continue to talk into the handset while this
function is active.

When you hang up the handset while open listening is active, both open listening and the
call itself are terminated.

Using a headset

You can connect a headset to your telephone. For this, one of the functions buttons (see
page 5) must be configured as a headset key.
Activating and deactivating the headset
The handset remains in its cradle when »headsets« are being used.
