Note:
There are two sealing lips on the sleeve of the handle. If the stainless steel tube is
installed correctly, it will cover both lips.
When not in use, the steam wand may be left immersed in the milk jug filled with
water to reduce the risk of blockages.
REMOVING OBSTACLES FROM THE HOT WATER / STEAM WAND
1. Turn the selection dial to the vertical OFF position, switch OFF the appliance
(press the POWER button), and unplug. Wait, until the appliance cooled down
(approx. 1 hour).
2. Turn the steam wand to the front of the appliance.
3. Pull the stainless steel tube down from the hot water / steam wand. This will be
easier, when turning the stainless steel tube to an fro.
4. Insert the pin of the cleaning tool into the opening in the tip of the hot water /
steam wand to remove any obstacles. To assist the cleaning process, move the
pin several times in and out.
5. If the hot water / steam wand is still blocked, clean the hot water / steam wand
according to the instructions 'Daily Care of the Hot Water / Steam Wand'.
CLEANING THE FILTER BASKET AND PORTAFILTER
The filter basket and portafilter used should be rinsed under hot water after each cof-
fee making session to remove all residual coffee oils.
6. At the end of the day, remove the filter basket from the portafilter. Then wipe filter
basket and portafilter thoroughly, using a damp cloth. Rinse under running tap
water and wipe dry. Thereafter, leave dry naturally for half an hour.
7. If the holes in the filter basket become blocked, soak the filter basket and porta-
filter in hot dishwater for approx. 20 minutes. Rinse thoroughly.
CLEANING THE SHOWER SCREEN AND GROUP HEAD
Periodically, run hot water through the group head with the filter basket and portafil-
ter in place, but without ground coffee. This will remove any residual ground coffee
particles from the shower screen in the group head.
1. Ensure that the appliance is switched OFF (POWER button is dark) and the water
tank is filled. Empty the drip tray.
