Problem
Not enough froth is pro-
duced when texturing
milk.
The machine is 'on' but
ceases to operate.
Steam is coming out of
the group head.
Espresso only drips from
the portafilter spouts
(restricted flow).
Possible Reason
You took too much hot
water or started too
many brewing cycles one
after the other.
The steam function has
not been selected, before
texturing milk.
The appliance did not
reach the correct opera-
ting temperature.
The hot water / steam
wand is blocked.
The water tank is empty. Fill the water tank.
Different brands and
types of milk and milk
alternatives will texture
differently.
The milk is not really
fresh.
Possibly, the overheat
protection is active.
You selected the brewing
function without the por-
tafilter installed.
You are using an insuffi-
cient type of water.
A severe problem occur-
red.
The water tank is empty. Fill the water tank.
The Solution
After producing large amounts of hot water, the tempe-
rature of the heating system will drop significantly. Turn
the selection dial back to the vertical position and wait
until the POWER button is illuminated continuously,
before starting the steam function again. Do not take
more than 500 ml of hot water in a run.
Press the STEAM button each time before you turn the
selection dial to the HOT WATER / STEAM position.
Before operation, always wait until the POWER button
is illuminated continuously but not flashing.
Remove the obstacle via the needle of the cleaning pin.
See: 'Cleaning the Steam Wand'.
You may need to adjust your texturing procedure. See:
'Texturing Milk'.
Only use really fresh, cold milk for texturing.
Switch OFF and unplug the appliance. Wait 60
minutes. Then try again. If the problem persists, call an
authorized service centre.
This is normal operation. The pre-injection first gives off
some hot water/steam for moistening the coffee pow-
der, before building up the final pressure for extraction.
Only use clear tap water or low-mineral table water. Do
not use any mineral water or highly filtered or distilled
water.
Turn the machine off. Wait for 5 minutes, then turn the
machine back on.
If problem persists, call an authorized Service Centre.
