Note:
Milk goes bad easily producing an unpleasant smell and taste. After using the
hot water / steam wand for texturing milk, you should always clean the hot
water / steam wand—at the latest at the end of the day (see: 'Cleaning the Hot
Water / Steam Wand'). This way, you will keep the taste and flavour of textured
milk fresh and silky.

SOLVING PROBLEMS

If any problems occur during operation, you will find solutions in this section.
Problem
No hot water, or the
water is only lukewarm.
The POWER button is
illuminated continuous-
ly, the selection dial is
turned to a function, but
water does not flow.
No steam.

Possible Reason
Machine is not live, not
turned on, or did not
reach operating tempe-
rature.
The machine is still hea-
ting.
The water tank is empty,
missing, or not correctly
inserted.
The water system is
clogged.
The appliance is still
heating.
The water tank is empty. Fill the water tank.
The steam function is not
selected.
The Solution
Check the following items:
– the water tank is filled and correctly installed;
– the appliance is live;
– the POWER button is illuminated or flashing (see:
'Making the Espresso Machine Ready for Operation').
Before operation, always wait until the POWER button
is illuminated but not flashing.
Fill the water tank. Push the water tank down until the
lid is in line with the top of the machine, when closed.

Descale the appliance and purge the system (see: 'Des-
caling the appliance'). If the problem persists, get in
contact with an authorized service centre for examina-
tion and repair.
Wait until the POWER button is illuminated continuously
but not flashing.
The machine will give off steam only, if the STEAM
button is flashing. Each time, you turn the selection
dial back to the vertical position, the hot water function
will be selected automatically. Press the STEAM button
again, if you wish to operate the steam function.
