7.3.3 Driving function

Risk of injury if the power wheelchair gets out
of control!
Switch off the controls on the power wheel-
chair whenever you do not need them. This will
prevent you from unintentionally activating the
joystick.

Observe the following safety instructions when
driving the power wheelchair:
– Do not drive on inclines and slopes of more
than 17 %.
– When driving downhill, reduce speed in
accordance with the degree of the incline.
– Do not cross differences in height of more
than 5 cm.
– Do not cross steps or curbs without braking
first.

The power wheelchair has been approved for driving on
inclines and slopes of no more than 17 %. You are not
allowed to drive on inclines or slopes steeper than this.
To ensure safe downhill driving, the driving speed must
be reduced in accordance with the degree of incline
(e. g. set it to speed level 1).
The critical obstacle height of the power wheelchair is
5 cm. Differences in height greater than 5 cm must not
be crossed. Do not cross obstacles such as steps or
curbs without braking first.
If there are obstacles in the wheelchair's way, drive
around them. On uneven ground, driving behaviour of the
wheelchair may get out of control. For this reason, the
speed of the power wheelchair must always be adapted
to the ground conditions.
In the driving menu, the battery status and speed level
are indicated on the display.
The joystick (see fig. 13, item 1) is used for driving. The fur-
ther the joystick is moved away from the mid-position, the
faster the power wheelchair will drive in this direction.
The maximum speed with full deflection of the joystick is
dependent on the selected speed level.
