Wi-Fi
Introduction: the roller introduces a new Wi-Fi radio transmis-
sion protocol added to Bluetooth.
Through the Wi-Fi module, the roller added 2 new features:
- automatic update via Wi-Fi
- use of the Dircon protocol (TCP/IP) via Wi-Fi, for the
transmission and reception of data with the various training
programs
Wi-Fi Update: the roller can be connected to the network via
Wi-Fi.
To pair the roller with the network, you must run the guided
procedure on the My E-Training app: "settings menu - Wi-Fi
configuration."
The App will guide you through the setup process.
NOTE: The roller supports 2.4GHz frequency band, for data
transmission via Wi-Fi. Make sure the router supports this
frequency band.
The Password for accessing the modem's network must be
a maximum of 32 characters, if this limit is exceeded, a pas-
sword of suitable length must be reset on the router so that
the roller can connect.
Once connected to the network, the roller can update the
firmware automatically, periodically checking if new firmware
is available.
When Elite releases a new firmware, the reel will automatical-
ly connect to the Elite server and download the update, at this
stage the white LED will flash quickly.
It is also possible to disable automatic updating in the "set-
tings – Wi-Fi Configuration" menu.
Wi-Fi data transmission protocol
The roller allows you to connect to all software that supports
the Dircon protocol via Wi-Fi. Through this protocol, the trai-
ner will transmit the information and receive the commands
from the training program.

Stand-alone mode
The home trainer lets you conduct a workout with reduced
functions when it's not connected to a software or app.
This mode features 2 different types of functions:
• Stand-alone with home trainer connected to the power grid
• Stand-alone with disconnected home trainer
Stand-alone with home trainer connected to the power grid
This mode sees the home trainer brake simulated gradient.
The gradient value can be set via the My E-Training app. The
home trainer maintains these settings even when it's not con-
nected to a software or app.
The gradient value can be set as a percentage by the user in
an interval ranging from 0% to 18%.

port website support.elite-it.com.
Stand-alone with disconnected home trainer
When the home trainer is disconnected from a power source
it cannot adjust the braking torque nor send workout data, yet
it's still possible to workout.
With this mode, the resistance generated by the home trainer
increases alongside speed based on a value on a scale from
1 to 16.
To adjust the preset braking torque level you must connect
to the home trainer (when powered up) via the My E-Training
app. Once the desired value has been set, the home trainer
will use the preset value when it's not powered up.

port website support.elite-it.com.
The roller detects the pedalling cadence with an innovative sy-
stem called sensorless, based on the detection of speed swings.
In particular limit conditions, such as low resistance or high
cadence, the returned cadence value may be inaccurate.
Cadence Bridge
The Cadence Bridge functionality allows for connecting an
external cadence sensor and transmitting the cadence data
in the standard FTMS Bluetooth protocol.
The compatible cadence sensors are: Speed&Cadence sen-
sors, Cadence sensors and the power sensors that send the
cadence value.
The function allows the roller to act as a concentrator of in-
formation from external sensors to facilitate the connection
between the software/app and the roller/sensor system.
The Cadence Bridge mode can be activated via the My
E-Training app. When the roller receives the command, it
begins the search for a heart rate monitor via the Bluetooth
protocol, linking itself with the nearest device.
During the search procedure the blue LED on the roller board
