4 Safety Precautions

20 Motor oil cap
The motor oil cap closes the opening for
pouring in motor oil.
21 Fuel tank cap
The fuel tank cap closes the opening for filling
gasoline.
22 Handlebar lever
The lever is used to adjust and fold down the
handlebar.

Setting the cutting height
To disengage the blade:
Release the control bar for
mowing
Throttle in "Start" position: The engine
can be started in this position.
Throttle in "Stop" position: The engine
stops in this position.
To switch on self-propulsion:
Pull the control bar for self-propulsion
toward the handlebar

Follow the safety instructions and take
the necessary precautions.
Read and understand the User Manual
and keep it in a safe place for refer‐
ence.
Follow the safety instructions concern‐
ing ejected objects and take the neces‐
sary precautions.
Keep hands and feet out of the reach
of the blade.
Remove the spark plug boot before
transport, storage, maintenance or
repair.
Maintain a safe distance.
Do not reach into the working area of
the blade when the engine is running.

The STIHL RM 655.1 VS lawn mower is
designed for mowing and mulching grass.
WARNING
