18.1 Troubleshooting the lawn mower
Error Cause

17 Repairing

17.1
The user should not repair the lawn mower or
blade themselves.
► If the lawn mower or blade is damaged: do not
use the lawn mower or blade and consult a
STIHL specialist dealer.
► If warning signs are illegible or damaged: have
the warning signs replaced by a STIHL spe‐
cialist dealer.
Remedy
Start the engine as described in this User Manual.
Refuel the lawn mower.
Contact a STIHL authorized dealer.
Use fresh, good quality unleaded gasoline.
Clean or replace the air filter as described in the
User Manual for the engine.
► Attach the spark plug boot.
► Check the connection between the ignition cable
and boot.
► Clean or replace the spark plug.
► Adjust the electrode gap.
► Increase the cutting height.
► Start the engine in lower grass.
► Move the throttle lever to the "Start" position.
► If the error persists: Do not use the lawn mower
and instead consult a STIHL authorized dealer.
► Attach or replace the throttle cable.
► If the error persists: Do not use the lawn mower
and instead consult a STIHL authorized dealer.
Clean the lawn mower.
Adapt the cutting height or mow more slowly.
Drain the fuel tank, clean the fuel line and the carbu‐
retor.
Contact a STIHL authorized dealer.
