Mowing with side discharge
The side discharge (19a) enables you to even manage
high and wild grass that is only mown rarely.
11.3.1
Inserting the side discharge (19a)
(Fig. 14)
1. First remove the grass collection basket (23) and in-
sert the mulching insert (26) (see 11.2).
2. Activate the locking mechanism of the side discharge
flap (19), fold it upwards and hold it firmly.
3. Insert the side discharge (19a).
4. Close the side discharge flap (19) slowly. The side
discharge flap (19) secures the side discharge (19a)
to prevent it falling out.
11.3.2
Removing the side discharge (19a)
(Fig. 14)
1. Open the side discharge flap (19) and hold it tight.
2. Remove the side discharge (19a) and close the side

Starting the engine
NOTE
The blade rotates when the engine is started.
Do not start the product if the ejector chute is covered by
one of the following parts:
• Grass collection basket
• Mulching insert
11.4.1
Starting the engine (Fig. 1, 15, 19)
1. Check the fuel and engine oil levels before each start
(see sections 9.1 and 9.2). Make sure that the spark
plug connector (16) is connected to the spark plug
(16a).
2. Open the fuel valve (13).
3. Stand behind the lawnmower. One hand pushes the
engine brake lever (3) to the steering (1), the other
pulls the pull starter (25).
4. Start the engine with the pull starter (25). To do this,
pull the handle out approx. 10-15 cm (until resistance
is felt). And then pull hard with a jerk. If the engine
does not start, pull on the pull starter (25) again.
5. Due to protective coating on the engine, a small
amount of smoke may be present during the initial use
of the product and should be considered normal. This
is a normal process.
ATTENTION
Do not let the pull starter whip back in. This can re-
sult in damage.
In case of cool weather, it may be necessary to re-
peat the starting process numerous times.

Switching off the engine
(Fig. 1, 19, 21)
WARNING
Danger of injury!
After switching the engine off, the blade continues to
run for a few seconds. If you touch the rotating parts,
you may cut yourself.
Wait until the blade comes to a standstill.
Do not stop the blade with your hand.
Wear protective gloves.
Keep the blade away from your feet.
1. In order to shut the engine down, first release the
drive bow (2) and then the engine brake lever (3).
Wait until the blade (27) stops.
2. Close the fuel valve (13).
3. Disconnect the spark plug connector (16) from the
spark plug (16a) to prevent the engine from restarting.
11.6
Driving mode (Fig. 1, 16)
The lawnmower is equipped with a rear-wheel drive.
11.6.1
1. Start the lawnmower (see 11.4).
2. Pull and hold the drive bow (2) to the steering (1).
3. The drive is switched on (the drive wheel (21) moves)
and the lawnmower starts to move forwards
ATTENTION
Avoid damage to the product! Always actuate the drive
bow completely (until it reaches the stop) in order to
avoid subsequent damage to the transmission.
11.6.2
1. Release the drive bow (2). The drive is switched off
and the lawnmower stops.
2. The engine continues to run.
12 Working instructions
• Only cut with sharp, flawless mowing blades so that
the blades of grass do not fray and the lawn does not
turn yellow.
• To achieve a clean cut, guide the lawnmower in the
straightest possible paths. These strips should always
overlap by a few centimetres so that no patches re-
main.
• Keep the underside of the mower housing clean and
be sure to remove grass debris. Deposits make the
starting process more difficult, impair cutting quality
and grass discharge.
• On slopes, the cutting path should be made perpen-
dicular to the slope. It is possible to prevent the lawn-
mower from slipping by lifting it upwards at an angle.
