18 Maintenance
► Place to the right of the machine.
► Press lever (1) downwards with the left hand
and hold.
► Hold the lawn mower at transport handle (2)
with the right hand and upend.
The lawn mower is stable and can be cleaned.
17.3 Cleaning the Battery
► Clean the battery with a damp cloth.
17.4 Cleaning the Air Filter
► Switch the lawn mower off and remove the
battery.
► Take hold of flap by handle (1), open it as far
as it will go and hold it open.
► Clean the area around the air filter (2) with a
damp cloth or brush.
► Use both hands to release the retaining lugs
(3) one after the other. Remove the air filter (2)
by lifting it upwards.
► Remove dirt on the outside of the air filter (2)
with a soft brush.
► If the air filter (2) is damaged: Replace the air
filter (2).
► Press the air filter (2) into the upper recesses
(4) of the housing so that the locking lugs (3)
audibly snap into place.

The air filter (2) must be flush with the housing
all around.
NOTICE
■ The cleaning interval depends on the ambient
conditions and the working conditions.
► STIHL recommends cleaning the air filter
every 50 hours of operation.
18 Maintenance
18.1 Removing and Attaching the
Blade
18.1.1 Removing the Blade
► Switch off the lawn mower and remove the
batteries.
► Upend the lawn mower,
► Block blade (1) using a piece of wood (2).
► Unscrew the screw with washer (3) in the
direction of the arrow and remove.
► Remove blade (1).
► Dispose of the screw with washer (3).
Use a new screw with washer to attach blade.
18.1.2 Attaching the Blade
► Switch off the lawn mower and remove the
batteries.
► Upend the lawn mower,
► Apply Loctite 243 threadlocker to the thread of
the screw with washer (1).
► Position blade (2) so that the raised areas on
the contact area engage in the notches.
► Screw in the screw with washer (1).
► Block blade (2) using a piece of wood (3).
► Tighten the screw with washer (1) to 60 Nm
