@ VOLUME/BALANCE indicator
This
indicates VOLUME
and
BALANCE.
Normally,
"VOLUME"
lights
and the
in-
dicator
shows the
level of sound
supplied
to
the speakers
or headphones.
Whenever
the BALANCE
button
is pressed,
""BAL-
ANCE", "L' and R" and the center bar of
the indicator light and the balance between
the right and left speakers is displayed.
The display remains in the BALANCE indi-
cation mode for about five seconds, and
then returns to the VOLUME indication
mode.
@ LOUDNESS indicator
When the
LOUDNESS
button has
been
pressed, this indicator lights.
@ SURROUND indicator
This indicator lights when the SURROUND
button is pressed ON.
® STEREO indicator
When an FM stereo broadcast is being re-
ceived, this indicator lights. When the
MODE
indicator shows "MONO"
it will not
light even if a stereo FM boradcast is being
received. If you wish to receive tne broad-
cast in stereo, press the FM MODE/MUTE
button so that "AUTO" is shown.
@® FM MODE/FM MUTE indicators
These indicators show AUTO/ON or MONO/
OFF according to the setting of the FM
MODE/MUTE button.
® TUNED indicator
When a broadcast is received correctly, this
indicator lights.
@ MEMORY indicator
Lights
for about
five seconds
when
the
MEMORY
button
is pressed to on, or for
one second when a frequency is stored in
memory during auto memory operation.
@® REMOTE SENSOR
This window receives signals from the re-
mote control unit. Do not obstruct it.
@ SPEAKERS-1/SPEAKERS-2
Press to turn the speakers connected to the
SPEAKERS 1 and/or SPEAKERS 2 ter-
minals on and off.
When the surround speakers are connected
to the SPEAKERS 2 terminals, a 4-channel
surround sound field will be obtained.
Notes:
@ When speakers are connected to only one
set of SPEAKERS terminals, press only
the SPEAKERS button of the system con-
nected; if both buttons are pressed, sound
will not be heard from either speaker
system. When two pairs of speakers are
connected and either or both the SPEAK-
ERS buttons are pressed, sound will be
heard from the speakers selected.
@When the surround speakers behind the
listening position are located in their
optimum positions, the most effective
surround sound effect will be obtained.
@® Headphone jack (PHONES)
Plug stereo headphones into this jack for
private listening and monitoring when re-
cording. If you want to listen to sound from
the headphones alone, press the SPEAKERS
buttons to OFF.

Diese Anzeige dient als VOLUME- oder
BALANCE-Anzeige.
Normalerweise, feuchtet '"VOLUME", und
diese Anzeige zeigt den Klangpegel, der den
Lautsprechern oder dem Kopfhdrer zuge-
fuhrt wird. Bei jedem Betatigen der BAL-
ANCE-Taste leuchten die Anzeigen 'BAL-
ANCE", ""L" and R" sowie das mittlere
Balkensegment. Die Balance fiir linken und
rechten Lautsprecher wird angezeigt.
Die Anzeige zeigt die BALANCE-Einstellung
fiir funf Sekunden an und kehrt dann zur
VOLUME-Anzeigefunktion zurick.
@® Loudness-Anzeige (LOUDNESS)
Leuchtet bei eingeschalteter Loudness-
Funktion.
@ Surround Sound-Anzeige (SURROUND)
Leuchtet bei eingeschalteter Surround
Sound-Funktion.
@® Stereo-Anzeige (STEREO)
Diese Anzeige leuchtet, wenn ein UKW-
Stereosender empfangen wird. Wenn die
MODE-Anzeige '""MONO"' anzeigt, leuchtet
diese Anzeige nicht, auch wenn ein UKW-
Stereosender empfangen wird. In diesem
Fall die FM MODE/MUTE-Taste drucken, so
da®& '"AUTO" auf der Anzeige erscheint.
@® UKW-Empfangsart/UKW-Dampfung-
Anzeigen (FM MODE/FM MUTE)
Diese Anzeigen zeigen entsprechend der
Einstellung der FM MODE/MUTE-Taste
"AUTO"/"ON" oder ""MONO"/"OFF" an.
® Abstimm-Anzeige (TUNED)
sender empfangen wird.
@® Speicheranzeige (MEMORY)
Leuchtet fiir ca. 5 Sekunden, wenn mit der
MEMORY-Taste auf Speicherung geschaltet
wird. Leuchtet fiir 1 Sekunde, wenn bei
Auto-Speicherung eine Frequenz gespeichert
wird.

Hiermit la@t sich die an die Klemmen
SPEAKERS 1 bzw. SPEAKERS 2 ange-
schlossene Lautsprecheranlage zu- und
abschalten.
Werden die Surround Sound-Lautsprecher
an SPEAKERS 2 angeschlossen, ist ein 4-
Kanal-Klangfeld gegeben.

Hinweise:
@ Wenn nur ein Lautsprecherpaar an eine der
SPEAKERS-Klemmen angeschlossen
wurde, darf nur die dem angeschlossenen
Lautsprecherpaar entsprechende Taste ge-
driickt werden. Wenn in diesem Fall beide
Tasten gedriickt sind wird der Ton stumm
geschaltet. Solange zwei Lautsprecher-
paare angeschlossen sind, kénnen beide
bzw. eine der beiden Tasten beliebig ge-
driickt werden, wobei der Ton von beiden
bzw. dem einzeln angewahiten Paar zu
hGren ist.
eWenn die Surround Sound-Lautsprecher
optimal hinter der Hfposition aufgestellt
sind, ist bestm@licher Surround Sound-
Effekt gegeben.
@ Kopfhdrerbuchse (PHONES)
Fiir Stereo-Kopfhérer. Soll ausschlie@lich
uber Kopfhérer wiedergegeben werden, die
Lautsprecher mit der erforderlichen SPEAK-
ERS-Taste abschalten.
@ Indicateur VOLUME/BALANCE
Il est utilisé comme indicateur de volume ou
de balance. Normalement, ''VOLUME"
s'allume et |l'indicateur montre le niveau
casque d'ecoute. Si la touche BALANCE
est pressee. "BALANCE", la barre cen-
sont pressées. "BALANCE", Ja barre cen-
trale, "L" et "R" s'allument et I'équilibre
entre fes haut-parleurs droit et gauche est
affiché.
L'affichage reste dans le mode d'indication
BALANCE pendant environ 5 secondes, et
puis revient dans le mode d'indication
VOLUME.
@ Indicateur de contour (LOUDNESS)
Si la touche LOUDNESS a été pressée, cet
indicateur s'allume.
@® Indicateur SURROUND
Cet indicateur s'allume quand la touche
SURROUND a été pressée sur ON.
® Indicateur STEREO
Quand une émission FM est recue, cet
indicateur s'allume. Quand |'indicateur
MODE montre ''MONO", il ne sera pas
allumé méme si une émission FM stéréo est
recue. Pour recevoir l'émission en stéréo,
appuyer sur la touche FM MODE/ MUTE
pour que "AUTO" apparaisse.
@ Indicateurs FM MODE/FM MUTE
Ces indicateurs montrent AUTO/ON ou
MONO/OFF en fonction du réglage de la
touche FM MODE/MUTE.
® Indicateur d'accord (TUNED)
Quand une émission est recue correctement,
cet indicateur s'allume.
@ Indicateur de mémoire (MEMORY)
S'allume pendant environ cinq secondes
quand la touche MEMORY est pressée, ou
pour une seconde quand une fréquence est
mémorisée en mode de mémoire automa-
tique.
@ Télécommande (REMOTE SENSOR)
Cette fenétre recoit des signaux de la télé
commande. Ne pas la boucher.
@® SPEAKERS-1/SPEAKERS-2
Appuyer pour alimenter ou couper les
enceintes acoustiques raccordées aux bornes
SPEAKERS 1 et/ou SPEAKER 2.
Quand les haut-parleurs surround sont rac-
cordés aux bornes SPEAKERS 2, un
champ sonore surround 4 canaux sera
obtenu.
Remarques:
eQuand ies enceintes acoustiques sont
raccordées 4 seulement un ensemble de
bornes SPEAKERS, appuyer seulement
sur la touche SPEAKERS du systéme
raccordé; si les deux touches sont pressées,
le son ne sortira pas du tout quelque soit
le systaéme. Si deux paires d'enceintes
acoustiques sont raccordées et que l'une
ou les deux touches sont pressées, le son
sortira par les enceintes acoustiques sélec-
tionnées.
® Prise de casque d'écoute (PHONES)
Brancher un casque d'écoute stéréo a cette
prise pour une écoute privée ou le controle
en enregistrant. Si vous voulez écouter le
son seulement par le casque d'écoute,
presser les touches SPEAKERS sur OFF.
