Scanning and Printing from Film
Scanning and Printing from Film
This section describes how to scan and print from film.
Note
A compatible film scanner and printer connected to the
system is required to scan and print from film. For
details, see the Operating Instructions.
Operation Overview
Here is an overview of the procedure for scanning and printing an image from film.
Select the Scanner as the Input Device
Selecting the Output Service
Select from among the output services:
• Quick printing (described in the next procedure)
• Printing images on a variety of paper sizes ("Printing on Different Paper Sizes", page 29)
• Creating special print jobs ("Creative Printing", page 29)
In addition to printing options, the following feature is also available:
• Writing image data to a CD-R ("Writing Image Data to a CD-R", page 33)
Entering the Password and Job ID
A password is assigned to each unit, and you must know the password in order to print. For more details about passwords,
see "[Setting - Other] Screen". (page 44) If necessary, enter the Job ID (the processing number attached to the film).
Setting the Film and Prescanning
The scanner reads the film image to preview scan results.
Selecting the image for output and making the scanner settings
From among the pre-scanned images, select the image for output. Make any necessary scanner settings:
• Fine adjustment of the scanning position
• Changing the film frame number
Note
If you are writing image data to a CD-R, make settings so that all images are recorded immediately after completion of
prescanning. Make the scanner settings after deselecting any images that are not to be written to the CD-R.
