Danger of burns! The tip of the HybridKnife should protrude at
least 10 mm out of the distal end of the endoscope. This is en-
sured when the second black ring on the distal end of the Hy-
bridKnife is visible through the endoscope.

Using the product

WARNING! Select the lowest possible unit setting based on the
required surgical effect.
Only select unit settings that do not exceed the maximum elec-
trical capacity of the product (V max or kV max) as this could
p p
damage the product. Notes on selecting appropriate unit set-
tings is provided in the User Manual of the electrosurgical unit
(for Erbe electrosurgical units, read the "Accessories" section).
If the waterjet pressure is too high, this can lead to unwanted
tissue damage. Adapt the pressure to the planned use. You can
regulate the pressure using the effect settings of the ERBEJET 2.
Always start with the smallest possible effect setting.
Biological material on the instrument tip can block up the water-
jet nozzle of the HybridKnife. Regularly and frequently activating
the waterjet helps to keep the nozzle free of deposits and sig-
nificantly reduces blockages.
CAUTION! Deposits may impair the effectiveness of the elec-
trode. Keep the electrode clean during use, for example with a
designated electrode cleaning pad. Do not activate the electrode
while you are cleaning it.
The waterjet and electrosurgical current are activated alternate-
ly using different footswitches (ERBEJET 2 footswitch and VIO
footswitch).
