7.2.2.1 Deep discharge
If the battery has been fully discharged and is left uncharged for a long time then it
can fall into an inactive operating state. In such a case proceed as described in the
section "First use/starting up for the first time."
If the battery cannot be activated as described in the section "First use/starting up
for the first time" then it must be checked by a cUBe bicycle dealer.
7.2.3 removing the battery
Turn the system to Off at the control element before removing the bat-

tery. If you fail to do that you might damage the system electronics or
the contacts of the battery-motor unit.
Before removing the seat post battery, make sure the magnetic connector is no long-
er connected to the charging socket of the rechargeable battery (1). You can discon-
nect the magnetic connector that leads from the drive to the battery with a slight jolt.
Note the marking on the seat post rear (2) and memorise the height that is adjusted
to your needs, before removing the seat post.

Subsequently, open the Quick-release at the seat post clamping of your cUBe
pedelec

and remove the seat post battery carefully. You can find further infor-
mation in the section "How to Use Quick-Releases" in your general bicycle user
manual.
release the magnetic connector at the bottom end of the seat post battery and make
sure the cable keeps out of the seat tube. You can hook the cable connector into the
recess at the rear top end of the seat tube (4).

Be aware of possible grease or assembly paste residues on the seat

post of your CUBE pedelec. Make sure not to soil yourself and your
clothes, when removing the rechargeable battery.
When you remove your seat post battery for charging it from the seat

post with your CUBE pedelec left in the open during the charging proc-
ess, you should protect the seat tube e.g. with a plastic bag against
rain, water, moisture and dirt.
Do not allow the battery to be removed while riding.

7.2.4 Inserting the battery
Switch the system Off at the control element before inserting the bat-

tery.
Take the cable that runs inside the seat tube and connect the magnetic connection
with the socket at the bottom end of the seat post battery.
Subsequently, insert the seat post carefully into the seat tube of your cUBe pedelec.
Determine the height of your seat post according to your needs with the marking on
the seat post rear. You can find further information in the section "Adjust saddle
height" in your general bicycle user manual.
close the Quick-release at the seat post of your cUBe pedelec. You can find further
information in the section "How to Use Quick-Releases" in your general bicycle
user manual.
connect the magnetic connector to the charging socket of the rechargeable battery
at the bottom bracket.
