16 Troubleshooting

This wireless surveillance system is built using the latest technology and is safe to use. During operation, you may
experience some problems and malfunctions. Therefore, observe the following information on how to eliminate pos-
sible malfunctions.
Wireless camera image is not displayed
Each wireless camera (up to 8) must be connected to the monitor/DVR. Please refer to section 12.5.

The wireless camera included with the monitor/DVR is typically supplied pre-connected. If, nevertheless, no im-

age is displayed, simply connect it again.
Test the function by operating the monitor/DVR and wireless camera at a distance of 1 – 2 m. If necessary, perform

the connection process ("Connect") again, as described above.
Check that the wireless camera is supplied with voltage via the power adapter.

Check whether the antenna of the wireless camera and the monitor/DVR is correctly attached; reorient the an-

tenna.
Check that the network cable is connected correctly.

Please refer to section 17.

The range is too short
Reorient the monitor/DVR and wireless camera antennas.

Never point the antennas at each other, as this significantly reduces the range. For optimal range, the monitor/

DVR and wireless camera antennas should be parallel to each other.
Check that the antenna of the wireless camera is correctly attached.

Check the repeater settings. See section 13.6.

Please refer to section 17.

The recording is black and white
The nighttime recording with activated IR LEDs is always in black and white and not in colour (note: The light from

the IR LEDs is not visible to the human eye).
LCD screen of the monitor/DVR displays no image
Check the monitor/DVR power supply. Is the power LED on?

Motion detection does not function properly
The monitor/DVR detects movements based on changes in the camera image. The motion detection feature is

not influenced by the ambient temperature or temperature of the moving object (contrary to conventional PIR
sensors). However, false trippings cannot be excluded due to this principle, for example, due to moving vegetation
or rapid changes in brightness (sun/clouds).
Use a different sensitivity setting.

Reorient the wireless camera.

Memory card/hard disk is not recognised.
The monitor/DVR can only be operated with SD, SDHC or SDXC memory cards; the maximum size is 128 GB.

Hard disks up to 8 TB are also supported.
The monitor/DVR only supports the FAT32 file format (NTFS is not supported). Be sure to format the memory card/

hard disk before using it for the first time.
Use the corresponding function of the monitor/DVR to format the memory card/hard disk, as described in sec-

tion 12.4; all data on the memory card will be lost. The formatting process may take some time depending on the
memory card size.
Remove the memory card/hard disk and reinsert it.
