Malfunctions
Malfunction
Spindle constantly changes
direction of rotation,
recognizable on the control
panel, LEDs jump back and
forth.
Motor is hot
Machine does not turn on.
Noise during work.
Bit „burnt"
Drill tip is running off centre,
the drilled hole is non-round
Drill is defective
Drill is running non-round or
shaking
The drill chuck or the taper
mandrel cannot be inserted.

Cause/
possible effects
•
Operation error, sequential error,
drilling depth stop is released and is
in the lowest position in the tapping
operating mode.
•
Wrong electrical connection
•
Spindle protection switch function
•
Drill drift switch function
•
Switch function of motor protection
switch
•
400V connection rotating field
•
Spindle is too little lubricated
•
Tool is blunt or wrongly clamped
•
Oil level transmission too low
•
Drill speed too high /feed too high
•
Chips do not come out of the drill
hole.
•
Drill blunt
•
No or too little cooling
•
Hard points on the workpiece
•
Length of the cutting spirals/or
angles on the tool are unequal
•
Drill deformed
•
No base / support used.
•
Bit deformed
•
Bearing worn down
•
Drill is not correctly clamped.
•
Drill chuck defective
•
Dirt, grease or oil on the taper
inside of the drill chuck or on the
taper surface of the drill spindle
•
Positioning the follower in the drill
spindle is not considered
Translation of original instruction
Solution
•
Adjust the drilling depth setting at
the appropriate height and clamp
tightly. Only then switch to the
tapping operating mode.
•
Electrical connection on page
76
•
Close the spindle protection, check
the switch function of the spindle
guard.
•
Pull out the drill drift, check the drill
drift switch function.
•
Determine the cause of the motor
overload.
•
Check the rotating field.
•
Lubricate spindle (only possible
when disassembled)
•
Use new tool and check tension
(fixed setting of the bit, drill chuck
and taper mandril)
•
Check transmission oil level, top up
if necessary. Check the condition of
the gear wheels over the sight
cover.
•
Select another speed
•
Extract drill more often during work
•
Sharpen or
use new drill
•
Use cooling agent
•
Use new drill
•
Use support and clamp it with the
workpiece
•
Use new drill
•
Have the spindle bearings replaced
•
Correctly clamp drill
•
Replace the drill chuck
•
Clean surfaces well
•
Keep surfaces free of grease
