Control head 230 and operating modules

A control station for propulsion with one
engine is equipped with a control head
type 230 with one lever and one operating
module. A control station for twin engines
with a control head type 230 with two levers
and two operating modules.
If further operating modules or bargraphs
are existent on the control station, the
remote control will beside the standard
functions be provided with an extended
functional range, which is described
separately.
Control heads of type 230 are available with
and without lever follow-up. With lever
follow-up the levers of the passive control
station move in a parallel way to the lever
position at the active control station.
In total, three detents exist for the lever
movement:
 neutral: nominal value for speed is
idle, the gear is
disengaged.
 detent ahead: nominal value for speed is
idle, the gear is engaged
in ahead.
 detent astern: nominal value for speed is
idle, the gear is engaged
in astern.
Between the detent ahead and the position
full ahead or the detent astern and the
position full astern only the engine speed is
adjusted from idle to nominal speed, the
gear position does not change.
Depending on the type of propulsion one operating module in case of single-engine systems or two operating modules in
case of twin-engine systems are provided. Each operating module acts on one propulsion side, some functions being
coordinated by the control.
