Definition
Means that the topology of an existing network tolerates a foreign (not supported by the original
network) protocol on the same infrastructure. The purposes of tunneling the information from the
foreign protocol is generally embedded into the original protocol and transmitted (Example:
PROFIsafe over IO-Link).
This timer monitors the time (in ms) until receipt of the next value PROFIsafe message. If the time
is exceeded, this is interpreted as an error and the safe device assumes the safe state.
