user and to restrictions of the functional safety. No guarantee is then
made for flawless function of safety-relevant components.

NOTICE
Damage from overcurrent
Defective or missing fusing of the supply voltage may result in damage to or
destruction of sensors, actuators or the safe I/O module.
► Use a fuse or an intelligent power supply (current monitoring designed for maximum 9 A)
which turns off power when overcurrent is present.
NOTICE
Damage from external shutoff of an individual supply voltage (UA or US)
Upstream separate shut-off of UA or US during operation is not permissible and may
result in damage to or destruction of the safe I/O module.
► The supply voltages UA and US of the safe I/O module are connected to a static (non-
switching) voltage supply.
Note
The fed sensor and actuator supply voltage is passed unchanged from the
BNI IOF-329-P02-Z038 to the connected devices (sensors/actuators). You must
therefore ensure that the connected devices are designed for PELV voltages.
All sensors and actuators must be powered by the voltage provided by the
BNI IOF-329-P02-Z038 at the ports. This applies to the +24V supply as well as the
ground potential.
To connect the device to the supply voltage/power supply, use a 7/8" female, 5-pin connector
(see Accessories).
