4.1

Safety features

The Cruise system and accessories are equipped with a wide range of safety devices.
Safety feature Function
Emergency Stop Disconnects the energy supply immediately, and
magnetic chip switches off the Cruise system. The propeller then
comes to a stop.
Fuses To prevent fires/overheating in the event of a short
(in Power 48-5000) circuit.
Electronic Ensures that the Cruise system can be switched on only
accelerator lever in the neutral position, in order to prevent accidental
operation of the Cruise system.
Electronic Protects the motor from overcurrent, overload, and
protection reverse polarity.
Overtemperature Automatic power reduction if the electronics or the
protection motor overheat.
Motor protection Protects the motor from thermal and mechanical
damage if the propeller is blocked, e.g. through contact
with the ground, trapped cords, or similar.

instructions.
Read through these instructions carefully before you operate the Cruise
system.
Observe local laws and regulations and necessary certificates of competence.
Failure to comply with these notes can result in personal injury or material
damage. Torqeedo accepts no liability for damage caused by actions which are
contrary to these instructions.
The symbols are explained in detail in Chapter 1.2, "Explanation of symbols".
Particular safety regulations may apply to certain activities. Safety and warning
information for these activities is to be found in the relevant sections of the
instructions.
4.2.1

Principles

Operate your Cruise system in compliance with all local safety and accident
prevention regulations.
Before delivery, the Cruise system was designed and manufactured with the utmost
care and with a special focus on convenience, user-friendliness and safety, and it has
been extensively tested.
However, unintended use of the Cruise system may result in danger to the user's life
and limb or of third parties, in addition to extensive material damage.
