10. Initial Operation

a) Installing the Base
If you don't mount the device on the wall using the hanging loop, you need to install the base
included in the delivery.
To do this, insert the two lower claws of the base from behind into the slots below the battery
compartment and swivel the base forward until the other two claws engage in the slots of the
bottom of the display unit.
b) Inserting the batteries

When you insert the batteries, all existing data records are deleted.
However, the settings you specified (configuration of sensor parameters) are
retained. In order to delete these as well and restore the factory settings, please
see the section "Restoring the Factory Settings".
• Before initial operation of the display unit, first start up the sensors of the "Energy Control
3000" energy measuring system according to their operating manuals. You can see that
their signals are being sent when the red status LED on the sender lights up.
If several sensors are implemented, it is important that they are addressed individually and
initialized for different times in order to allow for staggered data reception and a unique
address per sensor.
• Once the sensors are in operation, open the battery compartment on the back of the
"Energy Control 3000 USB" and insert three Mignon/AA batteries, making sure the poles
are placed in the correct direction (note plus/+ and minus/-). There is a corresponding
illustration in the battery compartment.
• Close the battery compartment.

c) Initialization

Proceed as follows:
1. After inserting the batteries, all available segments are shown in the display (see chapter
9) for approx. 2 seconds (display test).
2. Then, the firmware version appears on the display for approx. 3 seconds.
3. The time is displayed with the hour digit blinking. Set the current hour using the T3 button.
