5.8 Presetting Nominal Flow
The nominal flow can be preset to a value between 30 and 500 ml/min.
Use the Flow ( ) or Flow ( ) key (8) to adjust the maximum flow in the range
of 30 to 500 ml/min. The nominal flow display (5) depicts the preset value.
If the nominal flow is set too low, the nominal pressure cannot be reached.

Volume indicator (17) of the display unit FLUID SAFE Fluid Management Systems
depicts the consumption of the irrigation fluid.
Use the reset key (18) to reset display to zero.
An exact measurement requires that the irrigation fluid bags are attached to the
hooks of the bag mount provided for this purpose.
The device features an automatic bag and/or container replacement/supplement
detection without having to press the STOP key.

5.10 Instrument Detection

The device features an instrument detection function to optimize the pressure
measurement.
The decision to use the instrument detection is at the discretion of the physician.
If the instrument detection function is not activated, the irrigation pressure in
the uterine cavity is displayed instead of the pressure. Pressing the Stop key –
also during surgery – deactivates the instrument detection and the irrigation
pressure is displayed. The status of the instrument detection function cannot be
displayed or loaded during surgery.
The instrument detection has to be performed once more if the instrument is
changed during surgery.
The instrument detection function may only be carried out outside of the
patient's body and at a working height of ± 10 cm (3.94 inches) within the
surgery height.
Follow the instructions and order required to perform the instrument detection
exactly as described to prevent the display of false values.
