OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
NOTE - The number which precedes each paragraph links
the references in the text to the respective figures (listed on 
the pages 2 - 3).
1. COMPLETE ASSEMBLY
NOTE - The machine can be supplied with some parts
already assembled.
WARNING - Unpacking and completing the assem-
bly  should  be  done  on  a  flat  and  stable  surface,  with 
enough space for moving the machine and its packag-
ing, always using suitable equipment.
Disposal of the packaging should be done in accord-
ance with the local regulations in force.
Complete machine assembly following the indications on the 
instruction sheets enclosed with each part to be assembled.

2. CONTROL DESCRIPTION

NOTE - The meanings of the symbols on controls are
explained on page 4 and following.
2.1
  The motor is controlled by a dual-action switch to pre-
vent accidental start ups.
Press the button (2) and pull the lever (1) for start up.
The motor stops automatically when the lever (1) is released.
2.2
The cutting height is adjusted by the levers (1).
The four wheels must be adjusted to the same height.
DO THIS WHEN THE BLADE IS STOPPED.
2.3
On power-driven models, push the lever (1) toward the 
handle for forward movement.
The lawnmower stops moving forward when the lever is re-
leased.

3. GRASS CUTTING

NOTE - This machine lets you mow lawn in different ways; 
before starting work, prepare the machine based on how the
lawn is to be mowed.
DO THIS WHEN THE MOTOR IS OFF.
3.1a
Preparation for mowing and collection
in grass-catcher
–    L ift   the  rear discharge  guard   (1)  and fasten  the  grass-
catcher (2) correctly as shown in the illustration.
3.1b
Preparation for mowing and rear grass dis-
charge
– Remove the grass-catcher and check that the rear dis-
charge guard (1) maintains its lowered position. 
– On models with side discharge: make sure that the side
discharge guard  (4) is lowered.
3.1c
Preparation for mowing and mulching
(if provided)
– On models with a side discharge: make sure that the side
discharge guard  (4) is lowered.
– Lift the rear discharge guard (1) and fit the deflector cap 
(5) in the outlet, keeping it slightly tilted to the right. Fasten 
it by fitting the two pins (6) into the holes provided until the 
fastener tooth (7) clicks into place.   
To remove the deflector cap (5), lift the rear discharge guard 
(1) and push in the middle to release the tooth (7).  
3.1d
Preparation for mowing and grass side
discharge (if provided)
– Lift the rear discharge guard  (1) and fit the deflector cap 
(5) in the outlet, keeping it slightly tilted to the right. Fasten 
it by fitting the two pins (6) into the holes provided until the 
fastener tooth (7) clicks into place.
– Insert the side discharge chute (8) as shown in the figure. 
– Close the  side discharge guard  (4) so that the  side dis-
charge chute  (8) is locked in place. 
To remove the deflector cap (5), lift the rear discharge guard 
(1) and push in the middle to release the tooth (7).
3.2
  Fasten the extension cable correctly as shown.
To  start  the  motor,  push  the  safety  button  (2)  and  pull  the 
switch lever (1).
3.3
  While mowing, make sure the electric cable is always 
behind you and on the side of the lawn that has already been 
cut.
•  F or mulching or rear grass discharge:  always  avoid 
removing a large quantity of grass. Never cut more than 
one  third  of  the  total  grass  height  in  a  single  passage! 
Regulate the forward speed according to the lawn condi-
tions and the amount of grass removed.
•    F or side discharge (if provided): it is best to mow in a
pattern where cut grass is not discharged on the grass still
to be cut.
•    F or  a  grass–catcher  with  contents  indicator  device 
(if provided): while working, with the blade in motion, the
indicator remains up as long as the grass–catcher is able
to hold cut grass; when it lowers, it means that the grass–
catcher is full and must be emptied.
When the grass-catcher is too full, grass collection is no
longer efficient and the sound of the lawnmower changes.
To remove and empty the grass-catcher,
– release the switch lever and wait for the blade to stop;
–    l ift the rear discharge guard (2), grasp the handle and re-
move the grass-catcher keeping it in an erect position.
