7.8. Cleaning the generating set
Remove all dust and debris from around the exhaust and clean the generating set using a cloth and a brush (cleaning with a water
jet is not recommended, and cleaning with high-pressure cleaning equipment is forbidden).
Carefully clean the motor air inlets and outlets and the alternator.
Check the general condition of the generating set and, if necessary, replace any faulty parts.

8. Storing the generating set

Generating sets which are to remain unused for more than 30 days must undergo certain procedures in order to keep them in good
condition.
While the engine is still hot, drain the oil from the sump and replace it with new oil of suitable quality.
Disconnect the engine fuel pipe and place the free end of the pipe in an approved container.
Open the fuel tap (no. 6, fig. C) and drain the fuel into the container.
Close the fuel tap, then re-connect the fuel pipe to the engine.
Undo the drain screw (no. 1, fig. G) of the carburettor and drain the carburettor into an approved container.
After draining, replace the carburettor drain screw.
Remove the 2 spark plugs and pour approximately 15 ml of engine oil into the cylinder. Replace the plugs and turn the engine
over to distribute the oil. Then clean the generating set and cover the alternator air inlets and outlets with plastic adhesive tape.
Remove the battery and store it somewhere dry. Recharge it once a month.
Store the generating set in a clean, dry place.
