Troubleshooting

If you experience problems, read this chapter first. It contains tips for solving most problems.

Problems with the M-100FX

Sound contains crackles or distortion
• Could the input volume be excessive?
If the input volume (level) is excessive, the sound may be distorted. If you are inputting audio from
the input jacks, adjust the input volume (level) of the M-100FX.
• Are you mixing multiple channels?
Even if the input volume (level) of one channel is appropriate, mixing two or more channels
together may make the sound loud enough to produce distortion. Re-adjust the input level of each
channel.
• Are the EQ levels appropriate?
If the equalizer knobs (HI/LO) are turned too far toward the right (+15 dB), the sound may distort.
Use the equalizer knobs (HI/LO) to re-adjust the EQ levels of each channel.
• Is there a problem with the level indication shown by the master volume indicator?
If the sound is distorted even though there is no problem with the indication of the master volume
indicator, the output volume is appropriate, but the input volume is excessive. Please adjust the
input volume (level) of the M-100FX.
Noise is heard in the sound
• Are you applying the audio/voice effect MALE or FEMALE?
The mic is picking up unwanted sound from the background. Make the necessary changes in your
location so that unwanted sound is not present while you speak into the mic.
Loud whining, howling, or squealing sounds are produced
• Is a mic connected?
Howling could be produced depending on the location of microphones relative to speakers. This
can be remedied by:
1. Changing the orientation of the microphone(s).
2. Relocating microphone(s) at a greater distance from speakers.
3. Lowering volume levels.
• Are audio devices connected to the M-100FX?
If the inputs and outputs of your audio device are both connected to the M-100FX, the signal may
create a loop. Check your connections.
