Faults
Fault: Pump leaks
Possible cause
Screw connection or seal
faulty.
Fault: Shaft seal leaks too much
Possible cause
Mechanical seal is worn
or damaged.
Damage during
disassembly.
Pump is loud.
Pump strained or
vibrations in the pipes.
Pump shaft slipped.

Solution
 Renew seal between volute
casing and housing lid.
 Tighten screw connections.
Solution
Replace mechanical seal.

 Replace mechanical seal.
Improve suction conditions.

 Adjust pump unit.
 Increase the pressure on the
suction discharge.
Check pipe connections and

pump fasteners, if necessary
reduce the pipe bracket
spacing.
Fasten pipes using vibration

reducing materials.
 Fix pump shaft. See point 8.5.5
on page 40
