10 Start-up

Put the ventilation units into operation as
described below.
Then register the components connected to
the controls in service mode and, if neces-
sary, activate the ModBus interface. With
radio-controlled units, activate the EnOcean
or ModBus interface.
For information about the service mode pa-
rameters  Chapter 14.
When using an RLS 45 K control, PP 45
commissioning software can also be used
 Chapter 15.

10.1 Commissioning pre-requirements

Commissioning is only permitted if:
● the building is ready for occupancy.
● all connection cables are correctly fitted and
secure.
● all protective materials are removed.
● all ventilation units and room air controls are
correctly installed.
Commissioning ventilation system
1. Ensure that all ventilation units, room
air controls and system components are
correctly connected in accordance with the
wiring diagram in the appendix.
2. Remove warning sign. Switch the mains
fuses on. The ventilation units start up in
ventilation level 2 and heat recovery oper-
ating mode.
3. Call up service mode or commissioning
software (PP 45 K) and undertake the
parameter settings  Chapter 14 or 15.
4. Finish by performing a function test:

11 Radio-controlled operation
(EnOcean)
Radio-controlled operation of PP 45 venti-
lation units is realised using EnOcean radio
components.

● PP 45 EO extension module can only be
combined with PP 45 RC unit pairs. Other-
wise, wired operation is required.

● Radio mode (Maico Smart/EnOcean) is
activated by the specialist installer. Once
radio operation has been activated, you can
teach in/delete EnOcean radio components
directly on the ventilation unit.
11.1 Meaning of the LEDs [17] on the
PP 45 RC
LED Meaning
Orange LED flashes x times when the heat
recovery (WRG) operating mode is
selected (x = selected ventilation
level). When demand-driven oper-
ation is selected, the LED lights up
for 5 seconds.
Blue LED flashes x times when the
cross-ventilation operating mode is
selected (x = selected ventilation
level). When demand-driven oper-
ation is selected, the LED lights up
for 5 seconds.
