9.13 ModBus interface (building control
technology connection)
For a building control technology connec-
tion, the RS 485 interface of the RLS45 O/K
control must be reconfigured as a ModBus
interface. The RS 485 bus is therefore no
longer available.
The ModBus interface is activated in service
mode or using the commissioning software
(PP 45 K)  Chapters 14 or 15.
The interface is set up with baud rates of
9600 or 19200 and addresses 10 to 50.
9.14 Operation with an odd number of
units
The electrical connection is established to
the Fan1 and Fan2 connections according to
Chapter 9.6.
When connecting 3 or 5 ventilation units:
● connect the larger number of ventilation
units (2 or 3) to the "Fan2" group and
● connect the smaller number of ventilation
units (1 or 2) to the "Fan1" group.
When operating with an odd number of units,
the volumetric flow required of the Fan2 group
is automatically compensated for by the Fan1
group.
In cross-ventilation operating mode, ventila-
tion units of the Fan1 group (exhaust air) are
operated with a higher volumetric flow.
Volumetric flow compensation is also auto-
matic in demand-driven automatic operation.

eter  Chapters 14 or 15.
9.15 Additional functions on 230 V input
of RLS 45 K comfort control
The 230 V AC input of the RLS 45 K permits
operation with an additional function by
means of switching (with switch, button).
When additional functions are switched on,
the "Demand-driven operation" LED flashes.
Select one of the following additional func-
tions in service mode:
● Sleep mode
● Intermittent ventilation
● External OFF
● Supply air operation with overrun time
of 0 min.
● Supply air operation with overrun time
of 6 min.
● Supply air operation with overrun time
of 15 min.
The function of the 230 V input is only ever
taken into account on the directly controlled
RLS 45 K control.
Additional room air controls continue to run in
the previous ventilation level. The LED indica-
tor for the automatic function flashes slowly.
Exception: The External OFF function im-
pacts on all the ventilation system's room
air controls. If the External OFF function is
triggered, all the system's ventilation units
switch off regardless of the control/power unit
to which they are connected.
Sleep mode function (time-limited deacti-
vation)
Sleep mode with ventilation level 0:
Function only available with
DS 45 RC
Sleep mode is possible in any operat
ing mode. Press key for 2 seconds –
the LED flashes slowly. On RC
units, all 3 LEDs light up and then
go out one after another.
Operating time of 60 minutes. Can also be
set to a time of between 15 and 120 minutes
with the commissioning software. Once this
time has elapsed, the ventilation unit switches
back to the previously used ventilation level.
To cancel, press a button.
External switching on the 230 V input of
the RLS 45 K control is also possible with a
