5. Installation and Commissioning
Initial commissioning (service setup) of the BigRep STUDIO may only be per-
formed by a BigRep certified technician.
Do not connect the device to its power supply before having aligned the frame
and print bed. (See following section.)

5.1. Aligning the Frame

The frame must be aligned/re-aligned mechanically before initial commissioning
and after any transport. It will be done by BigRep service personnel during set-up.
After any transport, the device must be leveled at the vertically adjustable ma-
chine base (L) using a spirit level.
To change the height and for horizontal alignment, adjust the idler wheel at the
machine base as shown in Fig. 4-1 and check the frame's horizontal alignment
with a spirit level.

5.2. Leveling the Print Bed

Bed leveling must be done mechanically and will be carried out by BigRep service
personnel during setup. If you recognize any issues with the leveling of the bed,
please contact the BigRep support team [support.bigrep.com]

5.3. Loading Filament

Before initial use of the printer, insert a new filament spool as described in
Chap. 8.1. Changing Filament
