Base Flowrate Multiplier
For printing with materials other than PLA, you can calibrate the flowrate multipli-
ers of the extruder, in order to achieve the perfect flowrate.
A simple test will help you check the base flowrate of your extruders.
›
Heat up both extruders to the printing temperature of the material you
would like to print.
›
When the extruders reach the temperature, insert the filament on both
extruders until it reaches the end of the nozzle (make sure that a bit of
material is extruded).
›
Measure 300 mm and 400 mm from the upper end of the Teflon tube on
top of the extruder and mark both lengths with a marker. See Fig. 7-7.
›
Go to the Control Menu, select T0 as active tool head and extrude 300 mm
with a speed of 100 mm/s.
›
If the extrusion ends when the 300 mark reaches the Teflon tube, the ex-
truders flowrate is correct.
›
If not, measure the diff erence between the expected extrusion length and
the real length and save the correction on the Advanced Menu.
If, for example, the extruder extrudes 260 mm instead of 300 mm:
300/260 = 1,15. The base flowrate should be increased 15% on the ad-
vanced settings.
