Replacing the Hotend
Introduction
To replace the hotend, the extruder must first be removed, followed by the remov-
al of the hotend sensor before the hotend itself is replaced.
Always wait until the extruder has cooled down before replacing it!
Please note
The nozzle is firmly connected to the hotend and may not be replaced separately!
Required tools

2 mm and 2.5 mm hex keys
Preparation
1. Let the extruder cool down before retooling.
2. Remove the extruder as described in
Hotend Replacement Step by Step
1. Remove the cover of the extruder using a
top screw, and secondly the front screw (see Fig. 8-8).
2. Loosen both screws from the clamp holding the hotend in position (Fig 8-9).
3. Unplug the green connector and release the hotend. (Fig. 8-10)
4. Release the screw in the sensor plate (n) with a 2 mm hex key. Remove the
sensor. (Fig. 8-11)
Mounting the Hotend
1. Mount the sensor plate (n).
2. Locate the new hotend back into position. When doing so, try to keep the
hotend parallel to the other one, as shown on the pictures.
3. Tighten the clamp screws (m).
4. Plug in the green connector.
5. Locate the cover back into its position and tighten the cover screws.
Notice that the distance between both nozzles may change after the replacement
of one of them. Calibrate X, Y and Z before next print.
