1.2. Functions

• Ergonomic, easy-to-use user interface with a display of 4 x 16 characters and a pad of 45
membrane keys according to the protection rating IP 65.
• Simple handling by menu-controlled user guidance.
• The baud rate of a module or CAN network can be automatically detected.
• At the CAN layer 2 level the number of the data frames, error frames, overload frames as well as
the bus load can be displayed globally or selectively for individual nodes and message types in a
cumulative and differential way (in frames per second).
• The list of all connected modules as well as their type can be displayed easily.
• At the user level (CAN layer 7) all types of service and data message can be sent to any CAN
nodes and received messages can be indicated in plain language.
• Any user-defined messages can be sent to the CAN bus.
• Digital and analog outputs and inputs can be set and displayed (even without master in the
network).
• Writing received messages into the message buffer can be triggered by certain node addresses
and message types via four different trigger modes.
• When reading from the message buffer all messages and special message types can be indicated
at special node addresses.
• When reading from the message buffer the time stamp can be indicated in steps of 1 ms for each
received message.
• The contents of the message buffer can be sent again to the CAN bus. This is done to transfer and
further process the traced messages.
