Initial operation
Connecting the operating voltage
Connect the charger according to purpose. You may not connect any accumulators!
- With mains operation, use the enclosed mains cable and plug it into the mains
connection on the rear (1). Only operate the device on outlets with an earthed
connection.
- Please use the enclosed DC cable with the two pole clamps for 12 V DC operation.
Connect this with the 12V connection cable (2).
-
Attention! The plugs can only be connected with the right polarity.
-
Connect the black pole clamp with the negative pole and the red pole clamp with
the positive pole. The voltage source must supply at least 7 A.
- Once the charger is supplied with operating voltage, it turns on immediately. There
is no on/off switch. The two charge LEDs on the charger (7+8) light up for approx. 5
seconds and the ventilators run on full capacity for a brief time. A system check
takes place in the charger and is terminated with an acoustic signal. The charge
LEDs go off.
Factory setting
Before you connect an accumulator, you must select the accumulator type before-
hand.
If you do not make this setting, the accumulator may become dama-
ged or even explode.
Select the accumulator type via the „MODE" button (9). Each press switches bet-
ween the possible settings. An acoustic signal confirms the selection. The active
accumulator type is shown on the display.
nI = NiCd or NiMH
LI = Li-Ion or Li-Polymer
Accumulator connection
Once the accumulator type was selected, connect the accumulator with the two
charge sockets (3) observing the correct polarity.
The red socket is the positive pole, the black socket is the negative pole.
