Initial operation

Charging
Set the charging parameters as described in „connection".
Connect the accumulator with the right polarity and afterwards plug the mains plug
into a mains outlet (230V~/50Hz).
The charging process starts automatically. The status display lamp is red (= char-
ging).
Discharging
To ensure the impeccable function of an accumulator after longer
periods of use (without memory effect), NiCd accumulators should
only be charged when empty. In addition, the accumulators should
be charged/discharged once a month (spontaneous discharge,
capacity loss).
In order to discharge a partially charged accumulator, press the „Discharge" button.
The discharge process starts. The status display changes from red to yellow
(= discharge).
Pressing the „Discharge" button again in discharge mode switches to charge mode.
The status display switches to red.
If the discharge process is not cancelled, the charger automatically switches to
charge mode with empty accumulators.
Charge cutoff
The charger is equipped with a delta peak charge cutoff, which automatically stops
the charging process when the final charging voltage is reached and switches to
trickle charge mode.
The status display lamp is green (= accumulator full).
First pull the mains plug out of the outlet and then remove the accumulator from the
charger.
Prevent short circuits when removing.
While charging it is perfectly normal for the accumulator to become
„slightly" hot.
Never cover the charger to prevent damage (from overheating).
Disposal
Old electronic devices are hazardous waste and should not be disposed
of in household waste. When the device has become unusable, dispose
of it in accordance with the current statutory regulations at the commu-
nal collection points. Disposal in the household waste is prohibited.
Disposal of spent batteries/rechargeable batteries
You, as the end user, are legally obliged (Ordinance on the Return and
Disposal of Used Batteries) to return all used batteries. Disposal in the
household waste is prohibited!
Batteries containing hazardous substances are labelled with the symbols
shown to the left. These symbols also indicate that disposal of these bat-
teries in the household waste is prohibited. The symbols for the critical
heavy metals are as follows: Cd = cadmium, Hg = mercury, Pb = lead.
You can return flat batteries/rechargeable batteries free of charge to the
collection points in your community, our branches or anywhere else
where batteries or rechargeable batteries are sold.
You will thus carry out your legal obligations and contribute to the protection of our
environment.
